Wordpress Contact can't send to Exchange Distribution List (individual users are fine)

I have a Contact form in Wordpress that i am trying to use to email a distribution list that resides on an Exchange 2007 server.  The message does not go through properly, I do not get an NDR and the recipients (members of the Dist List) do not receive the message.

I can email the distribution list successfully from my personal email accounts as well as internal (Exchange) accounts.

I can email individuals using the Wordpress form directly (i.e. members of the distribution list).

Is there some setting i am overlooking? Perhaps a setting in Exchange 2007 or Active Directory? As a workaround, Wordpress is now set to email all of the members of the Distribution list individually.

The distribution list on the Exchange 2007 server is Universal in Scope and NOT a Query-based Distribution Group.

If you can email the distribution group using your external email account, its not the group that is at fault. Did you check the message tracking on the exchange server to see if the message actually hit the server? maybe it saw it as spam.
Open Exchange
Recipient Configuration
Distribution List
Right click on distribution list > properties
mail flow settings
Message delivery restrictions > properties

check if
Accept Messages from > all senders
reject messages from > no senders is checked.

thanks

sunnync7:  the proper settings are checked in the Delivery Restriction options

I think the issue may be that the "From:" address in Wordpress is "Website Contact Form" and not an actual email address.  Will test that shortly.
