Missing Calendar Items - Exchange 2007

A customer has recently noticed that a number of users have their calendar items missing. Items only going back 3-6 months (varying) with only recurring items going back beyond this. My first thought was that auto-archive was archiving to PST but this isn't the case. Can anybody point me in the right direction to resolving why this has\is happening?

Thanks in advance

there are a couple of users with BB's using desktop manager...its a possibility that the sync had the BB overwite the mailbox but there is one user that doesn't use a BB and it would appear that their calendar has dissapeared too. Sorry... a little vague here but a couple of the users weren't sure if they ever put anything in their calendar
