Missing Calendar Items - Exchange 2007

A customer has recently noticed that a number of users have their calendar items missing. Items only going back 3-6 months (varying) with only recurring items going back beyond this. My first thought was that auto-archive was archiving to PST but this isn't the case. Can anybody point me in the right direction to resolving why this has\is happening?

Can you check if these items are missing when you login using OWA ?

do you have any phones / IMAP4 accounts connected to this account.

what happens if you change the password - what will it break ?

there are a couple of users with BB's using desktop manager...its a possibility that the sync had the BB overwite the mailbox but there is one user that doesn't use a BB and it would appear that their calendar has dissapeared too. Sorry... a little vague here but a couple of the users weren't sure if they ever put anything in their calendar

Users blackberries were deleting the old calendar items
