Receive an error message, "[Error 3371] QuickBooks could not load the license data. This may be caused by missing or damaged files." after installing QuickBooks 2006.

How can I fix this issue?

I have called QuickBooks tech support and they say that they no longer support QuickBooks 2006.

Also, I have searched the Intuit QuickBooks website, and haven't found any details on how to fix this issue.

You may have to upgrade QuickBooks, but first try the following:

1. Determine if you can download the QB 2006 patches and upgrades from the Intuit site. If not, you may have to upgrade.
2. Find the file reboot.bat in the Program Files -> Inuit or Quickbooks folder.
3. Open a command prompt and run reboot. Does that help?
4. If not, uninstall QuickBooks, restart and reinstall it. You need your original license key to do this. Update it. Can you run QuickBooks?
5. If not, consider upgrading so you can get support.

I have outline all the steps, so if you cannot get QB2006 going, then you will almost for certain have to upgrade.
