Well I presume this is for Enterprise email, so in correspondence with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Since you have Lotus Notes 6.0 I presume you are running 4.1 based BlackBerry Enterprise Server. As 5.0.2 requires 7.0.3 and higher.

You can pull questions from Documentation such as the Administration Guide: http://docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/deliverables/11806/BlackBerry_Enterprise_Server_for_IBM_Lotus_Domino-Administration_Guide--908581-1030035652-001-4.1.7-US.pdf

You can also ask some more generic questions such as.

How would you trouble shoot a device being unable to receive mail. -- An example answer would be, Ensure the BlackBerry Device has the proper provisioning, check the Domino Access Control List (ACL) and ensure the BlackBerry Enterprise Server has Manger Access, See if the user has Pending Data Packets in BlackBerry Manager. Test if the user can receive PIN messages.

All of those steps would help narrow down the issue to a single component, (connection from Domino to BES, or BES to Carrier, or Carrier to Handheld.)

You can also ask the applicant how they would go about trouble shooting Enterprise Activation. -- Does the ETP message from relay make it to the users Inbox, is the BlackBerry Enterprise Server picking it up, does the device receive services.

How would they handle the BlackBerry Environment if you decided to add another 500 / 1000 devices?
