adobe reader 9. is not getting installed in my computer due to the above error
When you can't update or patch the product via the Updater, do the following:
1. For Acrobat, go to step 2. For Reader, uninstall and reinstall the base version such as 9.3 (make sure that the second number after the first dot increases by 1).
2. Choose Help > Check for Updates.
3. If an error occurs, look at the error code and error string to identify the source of the error. In some cases, Updater and MSI errors have the same error code. However, the error message is always unique. For a list of MSI errors, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa372835(VS.85).aspx.
4. See the documentation below or in the Updater guide.
5. Open the log for additional information: For Vista and Windows 7, go to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Loca l\Temp\Ado beARM.log. For XP, go to %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\AdobeARM.log .

I'd suggest to check your %TEMP% and %TMP% environment variables. You can access them byt typing SET in command prompt (cmd.exe).
pckonwar--adobe reader 9.3.2 is two versions old. Version 9.3.4 is the latest.
If you have prior versions installed uninstall them first. Then install v 9.3.4.
If you use Revouninstaller to uninstall, at the end it will also offer the registry keys to be uninstalled.

This question has been classified as abandoned and is being closed as part of the Cleanup Program. See my comment at the end of the question for more details.
Go into My Computer -> C:\ -> Program Files\Adobe and delete the folder Reader 9.0 if it is still there.
Download ccleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com
Run ccleaner and do a registry cleanup, it's perfectly safe.
Reinstall the latest version of Adobe Reader : http://get.adobe.com/reader/
