trying to copy madmen season 1 disc 3 on my comp.  I will follow with the log from nero, but it fails every time with DL Memorex disc.

Using Nero 6.6.0.12
DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
Sony DRU 810A

I dont think the issue is DVD Shrink.  It must be either media or Nero.  I can burn single layer discs.

Looks like it's not recognizing the media correctly as a double layer drive:

8:39:59 PM      #13 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 438
      >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<<
      =========================================
      Compilation cannot be written on that medium type.
            (Medium in drive: DVD-ROM. Medium required by compilation: DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL.)

Try other Media and another dual layer brand. If still no go problem is with Nero

That or Nero just doesn't care much for that brand so it's hit and miss. I would try another brand and see if you have any luck also make sure Nero is fully up to date. Or try UltraISO as well.

At this point your down to it being a media problem. If another brand of media works okay then you know either that spindle is finicky or the entire brand isn't registering correctly.

Alternatively it could be the dvd burner itself. Make sure you have the most up to date firmware for it.

went back to single layer burning to  see if it would work and it did fine.  Using memorex media for both single and dual.
