Hello,

The World Wide Web Publishing Service (WWW service) lives in the service host, Svchost.exe.
The FTP, NNTP, and SMTP services and the IIS metabase, known as the IIS Admin service, lives in Inetinfo.exe. If the IIS Admin service terminates abnormally, IIS restarts automatically.

ASKER

Thanks kaskhedikar_tushar: and shalabhsharma:

Tried both solutions offered and unfortunately they didnt help.
The WWW servcie is restarting every 5 mins.
How can I find out what is sending or causing the stop control being sent to the service?

Anyone, anyone?
I have the same issue only the WWW publishing service stops every minute (to the exact seconds).  It will restart about 5 times but then finally fails completely until a manual restart.  did you ever get a resolution to this?
