Hello All;

My hosting provider once a month reboots their SQL Server.
And during this time, I get the typical white page that states

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

SHUTDOWN is in progress.

/ACN.asp, line 16

I need to find a way to capture this warning/error
And display another type of message to my visitors instead of this.

Can someone please provide me with a little insite/code for capturing this error?

Thank you

In asp you can use:
ON ERROR RESUME NEXT
Followed by your code for opening your database connection.
After your db connection attempt, you can check the Err error object:
if  Err.Number <> 0  then
   ... error handling code

There are lots of references for this online just search for "ON ERROR RESUME NEXT" or "ASP Err Object" or something similar.

I think I can handle it from here.

Thank you for the heads up.
Forgot about the on error resume next.

No problem, we all forget stuff we haven't used in a while.
Thanks for the points.

yep, Try about 3 years since I last used it.
Not good practice, but just totally forgot about it, since I pretty much grab
My regular errors in other ways.

Thanks again.
Have a great weekend.
