"Unrecognized configuration section appSettings." error occured when run .net application ...

i have created new website using visual studio 2008 using C# language but when i run application i got the below error ...

"Unrecognized configuration section appSettings."

what  can i do to solve this error ??

Can you post your app.config file. I think that there will be something wrong (xml is case sensitive)

Example appsettings instead of <appSettings>

Also check the version of the .Net framework that the site is running under, i've seen that when running a 3.5 site in a 2.0 app pool. Make sure the app pool is running the version of the framework you need.
