Hi u Guys,
sorry for not coming backo youas I was away on holiday, but I sloved the problem in that a program I had downloaded "NetMetre" to monitor my up and downloading to and from the internet was blocking Outlook. I could not unstall it in the usual way and downloaded "Revo" which completed unstalled it safely. Now my Outlook is working again. Thanks for all the advice I appreciate it. Regards Dirkie

DirkievdWalt,

You need to login as an administrator in your machine to run the program.

If your unit is connected to a LAN and you have no admin rights on it, you need to ask your system admininistrator to do it for you.

As referenced in the KB that Mindsuperb mentions, I have used Start -> Run, Outlook.exe /resetnavpane for this kind of error.

If possible, your other option is to right-click on your Outlook icon on the desktop, choose Properties, and create a new profile to access your email.  Then set that new profile as your default.  You should then be able to open Outlook.
