If I want to stream 1080p content from a Windows Home Server to an HTPC, both on the same LAN, what amount of bandwidth would I need?

It depends on the compression format, but 100Mbps should be enough

to be more specific: the typical bit-rate use to be between 2,5Mb/s and 8 Mb/s so a net of 100Mb/s should be more than enough
