Hi  have a whole bunch of .html.erb files that I edit daily.. how do I make Notepad++ recognise these files so that it colours in the tags as it does with regular html?

setting > style configurator > in the window select HTML from the LHS and in below you will find user ext, There you need to type "erb", then save and close

Right click on the file and select "open" or "open with", It will prompt you with the list of applications from your system program files,to select from. From the list, select the notepad++, if the application is not mentioned in the list, then you need to manually search the file [notepad++.exe] and select it.

In the bottom of the editor selection window, there is a check box, You also need to check that, which says that now onward these type of files will be opened by "notepad++" only.

Hope this helps.
