Internet Explorer Add-In
We have some software that had an add-in for Internet Explorer. When the add-in is enabled and someone with local administrator privileges is logged in IE opens OK.
If the person logged on does not have local administrator rights and the add-in is enabled then Internet Explorer crashes and just comes up the message in the attached screenshot.
Unfortuantely we do not want the users to have local administrator rights.
We've setup a Software Restriction GPOs to allow and made sure the add-on is in the list of add-on management.

Which add-in is it? It seems more like a bug in the add-in
Have you contacted the software vendor, what is the software/addin?

The software is called SANAKO Study 1200
As mentioned above Internet Explorer opens successfully if logged in with an account with local administrator privileges.

You could try this patch:
http://www.sanako.com/Support/SANAKO_Study_1200/Downloads/SANAKO_Study_v._4.0_Correction_Patch_1.iw3
Otherwise try to contact Sanako about it... Just to be sure there isn't a gpo problem install it on a standalone system and run as non-admin

Does this addon connect to the internet and some server or anything like that?
I am not familiar with this addon but looking at their support site (http://www.sanako.com/Support/SANAKO_Study_1200.iw3) for clues, the first I found was this - maybe you can apply something similar, set it up to run as local admin. Probably not great but maybe their s/w only works with admin privileges. Might be worth talking to their support also?
