Cannot Install Microsoft Visio 2010

I'm running Windows 7 x64, and have already installed Office Professional Plus 2010 64-bit  (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher are all 64-bit).  When I attempt to install Visio 2010 64-bit, I receive a message indicating:
You cannot install the 64-bit version of Office 2010 because you have 32-bit Office products installed. ...

Interestingly, if I try to install Visio 2010 32-bit I get this message:
You cannot install the 32-bit version of Office 2010 because you have 64-bit Office products installed. ...

Has anyone seen this particular issue or have any idea how to work around it?  A cursory Google search didn't turn up anything useful...

Interesting that in this article, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2269468, MS actually recommends installing all 32-bit apps for compatibility reasons.

So nothing definiteive, but maybe try removing Office and install Visio first.

I had found that article too - and I've just finished removing Office and re-installing 32-bit versions, and now Visio is happy.
