So earlier in the day the user comes to me and says he gets this error about his system memory so I reseated the memory sticks and the one it didn't see it now was seeing. But I thought that after he left I would run Memtest anyway because in boot event log it said this problem happened intermitently since 8/20 but this is the first I was hearing about it.
So I come to run the memtest and the computer froze. Was completely stuck. So i did a hard boot down and then went to bring it back up. I logged on and when it says, "Running start up scripts," the screen flashes once and then it freezes again. I try and reboot and it does the same thing.
I tried last good known configuration and still get the same thing.
I tried pulling out the memory sticks one by one and starting the machine. Same thing.
I switched the video cards and it did the same thing.
I ran the system express diagnostics and they passed.
I am now running the memory test from the dell utility partition and will post the results.
I went into safe mode and it that is when i get the BSOD with the following error:
Bad_Pool_Caller 0x000000C2 (0x00000043, oxC267C000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
This is a Dell Precision 690 with 3GB of RAM with a RAID setup
Reformatting this computer would be a nightmare! Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.
