Google chrome frequently cannot find the webpage,
that can be found with other browsers. I have
permitted it with the firewall and cleared cache,
but still get this error. How do I fix this?

the wonderful world of Google Chrome and its buggy setup.

I know that it is an issue with local hosted pages (Pages hosted within your own network)
But, are you having issue with pages not found "outside" of your network?

Either way, check out the reports and see if any may assist you.

Got something for you.
Download the Beta of Chrome.
http://www.google.com/landing/chrome/beta/

I just downloaded the Betas for:
Chrome (Works great on network refresh, I "hope/think" that they fixed the issue)
FireFox (DO NOT bother with this one right now, there is an error that they are trying to fix, and will hopefully have fixed either later on today or this week...

Good Luck
