Hi

I have a .NET based web application (like a simple document manager) that lists all PDF files in the library.

What I need to do is the following -

a) Capability to highlight areas in the PDF, add bubble/annotations and save the PDF.
b) At the same time I also want to capture the annotated text, user id (logged-in) and date-time stamp and save it in the database for traceability and future access.

What's the best way of doing this and what COTS products could I use to deliver faster?

Thanks,

UD

The free iTextSharp library can be used to add content to a PDF film(like annotations or highlights). Your biggest problem will be to display the PDF file so that your user can actually place an annotation or highlight. IText does not provide a viewer component or a rendered.
On the commercial side you could use ABCPdf, which doesnprovide featuresntonrender your PDF document.
However, anything you don with PDF will be slow: This is not a simple technology, and it will take you some time to get familiar with the libraries and the PDF structure. Don't expect to do something like this in an afternoon.

How can there be "no responses!" if I provided two different methods to add annotations and/or highlights to PDF documents using a .NET environment?
