Highlighting & Annotating PDF files via a ASP.NET web application

Hi

I have a .NET based web application (like a simple document manager) that lists all PDF files in the library.

What I need to do is the following -

a) Capability to highlight areas in the PDF, add bubble/annotations and save the PDF.
b) At the same time I also want to capture the annotated text, user id (logged-in) and date-time stamp and save it in the database for traceability and future access.

What's the best way of doing this and what COTS products could I use to deliver faster?

The free iTextSharp library can be used to add content to a PDF film(like annotations or highlights). Your biggest problem will be to display the PDF file so that your user can actually place an annotation or highlight. IText does not provide a viewer component or a rendered.
On the commercial side you could use ABCPdf, which doesnprovide featuresntonrender your PDF document.
However, anything you don with PDF will be slow: This is not a simple technology, and it will take you some time to get familiar with the libraries and the PDF structure. Don't expect to do something like this in an afternoon.

I have 3 months to R&D this...trying to see what other options are out there and experiences on various options to minimize my R&D time.

How can there be "no responses!" if I provided two different methods to add annotations and/or highlights to PDF documents using a .NET environment?
