how can i enable javascript debugging, visual studio 2010
I am unable to place debug points in my javascript code. thanks

you need check  IE > Tools > Internet Option > Advanced > Settings > Browsing > Unckeck "Disable script debugging" option.
After doing this it should work.
If not you have to attach process or browser instance to debugger.
