Datto Backup

I am doing some research on this copmpany's products: http://dattobackup.com/index.php. I haven't been able to find any specific documentation that describes exactly how this products works (more info than just "Does remote backups").

Do any of you guys know any thing about this product? or are you familiar with similar products that:

1. Do local or remote backups *(as part of a solution) and not just standard Backup program.
2. A solution that supports restore form the cloud?
3. A solution like this that brings does disparate hardware of dead domain controllers.

So basically a real windows disaster recovery solution.

I am trying to understand excatly what this company is doing differently for backups/restores whether onsite or offsite than say backup exec.

Thanks

Not sure if you're looking for desktop/laptop or server backup.  If you're looking for the client side, HP's Data Protector Notebook Extension works with Data Protector to give you centrally managed (policy-controlled) backup and restore of desktops and notebooks in and out of the office.   The data is backed up to systems in your (or a hosted) data center.

"Cloud" backups are wonderful if you only have to do single-file or small restores... but please consider how long it would take to restore one or more entire systems simultaneously over your network pipe.  Can you afford to be down for that long?
