Do not archive flagged/follow-up items in Outlook 2003

Outlook required me to split the PST file into 3 archive files to be more managable, fast, and stable.  Thi sis fine and makes sense.  Problem is that the flagged messages are also moved to the other archive PST file during the archive process.

I use search folders to organize the flags and catagories for my work flow.  Issue is that due to the archiving, now a lot of items are split across multiple PST files making the search folder lose its purpose.

Is there a way to tell a search folder to look in multiple PST files ?

Or can the archive method be told to not touch the flagged items ?

Or is there a better way of doing this (still using flags in Outlook) ?

THank you

There is no native way to tell Outlook to not archive flagged items. You can mark each message that you don't want Outlook to not archive by Open the item, choose File | Properties, select the Do Not AutoArchive This Item check box, and click OK.

Regarding the search in multiple pst files, please take a look at this:

Thank you.  I havw also found that marking a folder to not archive and moving your saved messages there can also be helpful.
