How to get a lost password in Windows 7?

I have a Windows 7 home edition. I set up an administrative protected account. But I lost the password for it

Do you know any method I can restore this password without reformatting the PC and damaging this user account?

I use a program called ophcrack.  It can be downloaded from here:

you will need to burn the .ISO to a CD and then boot from it.  It is all GUI based and fairly easy to use.  You will want the ophcrack live CD for Vista which should work with Windows 7.

There are a few ways to do it.

Hard:
If you have the installation CD, you can boot in to windows PE( pre installation enviroinment) where you can change the password or reset the current password.

Easy:
If you already have another account with administrator priviledges, log in, right click on my computer>manage>users and accounts>right click on the account you want and set new password.
all this without any potentialy dangerous software :o!!
all ways you suggest must be without changing the original password for this account
you can change the password without changing anything else on the account. If what you want is to recover the password you are out of luck.

What I want "without changing the original password for this account" means, for example, if the password is ABCD, I don't want to reset it, I just want to know what it's.
I agree with Tolomir, it seems you are trying to gain access to a computer that is not yours.
The solutions are close to what I want. It works but I have to reset the password. If I don't need to reset the password, that is even better solution.
