Internet Explorer Certificate Error

When I try to leave my home page, MSN, in Internet Explorer and, for example, type in the New York Times URL I am brought to a Certificate Error message in the browser. When I click on Continue...I am always brought to http://wireless.apollogrp.edu:17776/index.asp. This site is related to Phoenix University at which I take no classes. See attached for details When-I-try-to-leave-Home-Page.doc

I posted in your other thread as well. You appear to have Personal Security which is a rogue anti-spyware application. You need to remove this app and ensure that your pc is clean as this app also downloads other malware to your pc.

Malwarebytes is effective in removing this application and is free to use.

I will be able to run Malwarebytes tomorrow afternoon. If it catches psecurity, am I then to return to Windows update? How do I manually update the .net file?

Yeah let Malwarebytes complete the scan, you may even have to scan in safemode.  Make sure the definitions are updated."

What we discovered today was that the University of Phoenix had an office down the hall and its wireless network was taking over this one computer. With support from BellSouth we switched management of the wireless connection from BellSouth software to Windows XP and all is well. Problem of the wandering browser is solved. Thank you for digging in.
