vb.net - added the northwind db to the data sources tab in the solution explorer

I added the nothwind db to my solution explorer...can I use that as a db to store the data from my app??  or is it just a sample?

northwind comes with sample tables and data. Yes you can use it to store your own data, as long as you know how to handle its existing data. If you want to use the existing tables to store your data, you may want to delete the existing data first. Or you can create new tables to store your data.

okay

1) how would I delete the exisitng data in northwind?
2) How would I create db in the app..ig I dont have access to sql outside of it...?

Well, you can manipulate the database in your code, start with this link:
http://www.developerfusion.com/article/4278/using-adonet-with-sql-server/
 
 or you can download/install free sql server express from the following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/express.aspx
 
 use its management studio to manipulate the database.
