Create thumbnails of PDF files

I need to create thumbnails from PDF file exactly as it is displaying the file system using the thumbnail option.
On the PC there is NOT a full license of Acrobat.

Sorry, but my request is different.
I would like to write a VB.NET code that creates a thumbnails for each PDF files in the directory specified as parameter.
