How do I connect wan2 of Vigor 2820 to the internet using an ASDL Dlink DSL320T modem.

All of the Vigor wan2 settings seem to require same details as modem uses to connect e.g. username, isp fixed IP etc as in a direct cable connection. Am I missing something?

If you are plugging in a live already configured, always on adsl line then the Vigor will do the rest. Make sure that on the Dlink DHCP is turned off.

Connection worked by setting the Vigor to use Static or Dynamic IP and to obtain IP automatically, BUT with the DLink DHCP turned ON. It did not work with the DHCP turned off, where on noticing that wan2 reported it was in DHCP client mode, I switched Dlink DHCP on and it connected.
