I've seen a photo for the ddr400 ram where labels the restriction usage on specific motherboards only.  Is it true?  Can these ram be used on other branded motherboard such as Asus or Gigabyte?

I have never heard anything like that. ddrsdram is kind of standardized, for this reason, all ddrsdram will work in the computer that will accept the rap you are showing in the picture (hence, vice versa is likely). I would think that this "restriction" is nothing more than the company stating that they did their tests on those motherboards, or even that the ram was designed to be batched with those motherboards. There is no reason it wouldn't work elsewhere.

I've the same thought that it's a standard and they can apply to other motherboard.  Thanks for your input! :)
