hi
i am trying to understanding how GLBP will be setup.

if i read this article

http://www.itsyourip.com/cisco/how-to-configure-glbp-in-cisco-ios-routers/

2 Cisco router will be connected via a serial interface to track gateway interface

but if read this

http://aconaway.com/2008/03/21/configuring-glbp/

I dont need serial interface..
if i follow the second link with the picture i attacked,
will it work ??

or you need to have serial interface between 2 router to track gateway interface ?

You don't need the routers to be connected directly to track interfaces to lower priorities, GLBP will compare priorities on all routers on the same GLBP group to designate the AVG and AVFs. This conversation will go through the switch like any other traffic (routing protocols, cdp, hsrp, vrrp, etc..)

By default, GLBP uses round robin and you can see the options with the command:

glbp 1 load-balancing ?

You can use:

glbp 1 weighting

to set up maximum values, certain tracking for interfaces (if an interface fails how much weight to reduce, or if another router fails, how much weight to take, there's lower and upper bounds on the weight, etc).. it's a lot of criteria, you might wanna play around with those options a bit
