Hi,

I have a website for a chain of physiotherapy clinics written in Joomla where we would like every clinic inside the chain to have its own website within the website. Each clinic will have its own set of 4-5 different pages (these pages will be the same for every clinic).

What we are wanting is to use a tabbed navigation system to navigate within each of the pages within clinics and I would like this multi tab structure to have distinct URL's.

For example if there is 2 clinics (Clinic A and Clinic B) and they each have their own homepage plus 3 additional pages (Page 1, Page 2 and Page 3) I would like to have the following URL's
Clinic A Homepage: www.domain.com/Clinic-A
Clinic A Page 1: www.domain.com/Clinic-A/Page-1
Clinic A Page 2: www.domain.com/Clinic-A/Page-2
Clinic A Page 3: www.domain.com/Clinic-A/Page-3
Clinic B Homepage: www.domain.com/Clinic-B
Clinic B Page 1: www.domain.com/Clinic-B/Page-1
Clinic B Page 2: www.domain.com/Clinic-B/Page-2
Clinic B Page 3: www.domain.com/Clinic-B/Page-3

Does anyone have any ideas if this is possible with Joomla and what is the best way to go about it.

The clinics will be updated by technical novices so we need a solution which is simple to use, i.e. make updates, add / delete clinics.

Hi

We did this for a chain of stores

There is one cool way to achieve a different look whilst always only running 1 website.

So say you have 3 clinics

Create 3 different templates for those and you can make them distinctive in whatever you please
make another template which will be your main homepage layout.

Now a slick tabbed system would be something like the one from yootheme.com, I think its the carosel one we used.

Create 3 article sections, naming each one the clinic a or b or c

And in your seo make sure you use display catgegory name in url so you get www.x.com/clinic-a/homepage

Now create your 3 hompage articles for each clinic and any sub pages you need within the article section for its clinic

YOu can then assign the templates you made earlier to these links.

Creating the illusion of 3 sites but its only 1 site, the bonusis one user access for all sites and sub sites, and time to load, you can share images and modules etc and also assign modules depending on the clinic so say one has a online booking system and the other 2 dont you can assign the module only to clinic a pages and not b or c

This is a great solution to your problem another bonus is if you had a store for supplies or books etc all 3 can link to it and your user is never leaving the site but is able to view specific clinics.

Its like if you have a football league site and pages for all the teams within the site each branded for the particular team, giving the user the impression of multiple sites but its only 1
