I had a primary ldap server fail and cloned the backup to use as a primary ldap server.   Do I need to promote it somehow?   I can no longer add or remove accounts using ldapphpadmin.  This in turn is affecting my windows (samba) logins I believe.

This is the error when adding accounts:
Error
Could not add the object to the LDAP server.

Hi,

The error you're getting means you're directed to another server which does not exist (in this set-up I guess it is pointing to your not functioning master)

You'll need to check your slapd.conf and check for  related directives. Don't forget to backup your slapd.conf before messing with your conf.

Here's the Admin Guide: http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/replication.html

Cheers,
K.
