Hi,

It depends on a couple of different things- for one, if you're using PHPmotion V3.5, the videos will be a little grainy/jagged no matter how high the quality, because of the new flash player that is packaged with the script.  PHPmotionWiz.com has a mod for implementing the JW player, or MotionMods.com has a free mod for integrating Flowplayer, and I would recommend one of those, for sure.

If you've done that, make sure you have the resize setting in your siteadmin turned off, and then also make sure you're uploading high quality video to begin with.

Beyond that, there's not much you can do unless you're ready to dive into convertor.php and begin actually hardcoding changes into the conversion commands.

Awesome, clear concise and to the point, great answer, wish i could add more points!!

Disappointed that the adobe player is the cause of the grainy look, Will definitely check out those suggestions.
So I dont need to adjust these setting?  Garbage in Garbage out,
Thanks

I apologize for the terrible delay.  I should know better than to answer questions right before leaving.  :)  Sorry about that.

The settings you have there are just fine- you can achieve very good quality with those settings.  I've gotten great results in the past with even lower bitrates, etc.  Part of the issue is definitely the player, but you can also sometimes improve the results by working with the commands in the convertor.php file.  This really is somewhat limited by your host, though, so it generally takes some trial and error unless you personally compiled ffmpeg and know what libraries and settings are available.
