Need to delete a mailbox but says object pointer could not be found on domain controller

Heres what happened.  I deleted the AD account first and then tried the Exchange account mailbox.  Evidently I did it the wrong way.  Is there a way to forcfully remove the mailbox?  We are running Exchange 2007.  Any help would be appreciated.
