Sounds like you ran into a bug; what version of GNS are you using

ASKER

it's GNS3 0.7.2

please help
That is the updated version!

Have you tried a different image?

Are you decompressing the image before attaching to GNS?

as stated in the documentation: "Note that currently images for 2600 routers must be uncompressed to work with Dynamips"

I am running 0.7.2 with 2600s with no issues, so you are more than likely running into a bug:
The developers will be able to help you out and possibly provided a fix:

I add it to winrar and Extract it again and rename it from c2600-io3s56i-mz.120-5.XK1.bin To c2600-io3s56i-mz.120-5.XK1.image is this correct? because when i drug and drop the 2600 router there is no error
c2600-io3s56i-mz.120-5.XK1.image

the image name can be anything, it is already extracted. If you did not get an error when you dragged it over, then you should be good to start the router and console to it.

Billy
Yes but i just renamed it from .bin to .image that's all, is this the procedure to uncompress the bin file?
Because when i start the console i can see : self Decompressing : ############################# etc... an image should be extracting while starting the console?

If I remember correctly, yes, you should see what you are seeing.

Billy
so no problem now it's already extracted right?
>so no problem now it's already extracted right?
correct
thanks
