Exchange Offline Address Book Error
Howdy,
I am needing some assistance in troubleshooting an OAB error. Several users have reported that Outlook (up to date 2007) gives the following error:
Exchange Offline Address Book Error
10:33:20 Synchronizer Version 12.0.6529
10:33:20 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Joe Smith'
10:33:20 Done
10:37:21 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
10:37:21 0X80080005
We are running Exchange 2007 SP3 (on 2003 64bit). I see no related errors in the server's event logs related to OAB. I have turned up OAB's logging, rebuilt OAB, and it did find some errors. We resolved those issues and re-ran the process and no errors were records during the process. I have been unable to find much on this specific error on the web.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. We are not using any sort of proxy server unfortunately though.
0X80080005 ?
hm.. ok not found or access denied
is this the only user ?
if this is for multiple users .. make sure that the mailbox store has a default offline address book assigned in the mailbox store properties
secondly for a specific user check the msexchuseoab attribute.. if that is missing

its looks like a workstation issue.
I would suggest you to try to run in outlook on safemode and check it.

Howdy,
Multiple users (but not all) are seeing this message. I checked the Server and the correct OAB is configured with the Mailbox Database. I also doublechecked that the msexchuseoab is set correctly.
Thanks!

No answer as it was requested to no longer look into.
if so can you ensure the Exchange servers IP anddress, FQDN and NETBIOS name are in the exclusion list.
