Hi

I wonder if someone can help me.
I need to get city census data into a mysql database.

Does anyone have experience with this task?
I am getting the datasets from here:

http://www2.census.gov/census_2000/datasets/

and really don't know where to begin.

Thanks

It looks like you can navigate to pages that in turn list .zip files.

I would begin by doing a right-mouse click on one of these files
to save the file to my PC.
Then I would use a program like WinRAR or Zip to "unzip" it to see
how the data is organized (Excel spreadsheets? tst? csv format?)

Once I know the format, I would look at tools for uploading various
Formats into a DBMS such as MySQL.

far too simple an answer.  Kind of stating the obvious.
