I'm running Exchange 2010 SP1 and have a Windows Mobile 6.5 cell phone (HTC HD2). I understand that, with this combination, I should be able to sync SMS text messages between the phone and Exchange and should be able to read and create text message in OWA.
However, it's not working. At the phone end, I don't see the option to sync Text messages - just the usual Contact, Calendar, Email and Tasks. The fifth check box for Text Messages is not there. Similarly, on OWA, I don't get the option to create a Text Message.
What do I need to do at the server end? Clearly, OWA is enabled for the user since other synchronization works properly. Do I need the Unified Messaging role for this even though no voice is involved? Are there any other policy settings required to enable the option to appear?
