Really badly need help. Will be going to Poland at the end of the week but the All Ireland football final is on... A Must watch... I can watch the match live on RTE player but this does not strem to outside Ireland. Is there anyway i can either leave a PC running in Ireland and use my laptop abroad, I do have a TV card as well. Any suggestions be very grateful.

You could set up a VPN and log into your home computer while out of the country.

Also you could try a PC sharing software...even something free like LogMeIn.  But I would certainly test it first, I have reservations on video quality when using a logmein to view from another PC.

Hi Tiras,

I have followed a procedure to setup a VPN on my main machine. Now I can access the VPN connection from within my network, I havent tried it from outside my network, but I have setup port forwarding on my router to the main pc so I hope it will work. My main problem is what do I do with the VPN then?? How do I log on, i.e do i see a desktop, or am i only requesting info from this pc to go fetch and deliver to laptop in Poland

Cheers Gareth

You'll have to enable remote access, and it's best to have your pc password protected.  Google how to enable remote desktop access for your specific OS.

Another way to go is an Ireland-homed web proxy.
There are anonymous web proxies out there, or maybe you could set up your own computer in Ireland as your own one-user private web proxy by installing open-source free software.

would that be better do you think?? cause it wont need to be displayed on the home PC and repackaged again, it will just be used like a tunnel.

Better?   You should test is and see what's better.  I have reservations on video quality when view from another PC.  You need to test it and see.
