Excel Import - remove first 5 characters in a cell

I have 1000's of records in a spreadsheet. I one of the columns I have information that i need to remove the first 5 characters.
I can't figure it out for the life of me...

In another column, use a formula like this:=MID(A2,6,LEN(A2))Copy that down as needed.  Now, copy the results in that new column, and do a Paste Special / Values over the originals.Delete that "helper" column with the formulas, and voila.
