I have a user who wants to import 1000 of her contacts in outlook (not from the GAL) into a new contact group.

She creates the new Distribution listy in Oultook (easy enough) trick is how to get the 1000 contacts into the DL without manually inserting them all. She can sort them by catagory, but how to copy them into the new DL seems to be a mystery....

Can any-one help?

Hi, Paul.

An Outlook distribution list can't hold 1,000 items.  The maximum number is somewhere around 125 - 150 depending on the length of the names and addresses.

Sorry, but I have to object.  Sometimes the correct answer is "that's not possible".  That's the case for this question.  I know it's not the answer you wanted, but it is a correct answer and I deserve credit for answering correctly.
