Unable to install Microsoft Forefront Security on Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition KN SP2 (see screenshots and error log). What can I do to fix this so that it will install correctly?

As you can see in the screenshots and in the error log, Forefront installs almost completely but then errors out at the Distribution server component and the Configures Distribution Server Component and then is unable to continue.

Before beginning the Forefront Security installation, I loaded all Windows updates & perquisites (IIS, ASP.NET, SQL Server with SP3, MMC 3.0, GPMC with SP1, and WSUS with SP1) on the Server 2003 virtual machine.

What can I do to fix this issue so that I can get Microsoft Forefront Security installed?

You are installing all on one server. Right?

If yes so which version of WSUS is installed on the server?

I attached a very good document that may help in your problem, read it and confirm all steps and espesially step 15 because distribution server is your WSUS.

You will find another document on how to install WSUS.

Hi Knowledgeable,

I read the attached Log file and found that the error was very clear and all what you need to do is to set up athe WSUS syncronization as explained on the WSUS installation document on my previous post.

Please do it and then restart the FCS installation again, I will wait your feedback.

Yes, everything is being installed on the same server. I have installed WSUS 3 SP1.
