Assuming GroupWise 8, look at the webacc.cfg file found in:

sys:novell\webaccess (NetWare)

/var/opt/novell/groupwise/webaccess

Look for the timeout switch.  By default it is set 20 minutes but I don't think it ever makes it to 20 before a timeout.  If you make a change, save the file and then either restart or leave everything up and wait 10 minutes for tomcat to re-read the config and make the change.

If you're using GW7 and IPhone using GWmail. A line in webacc.cfg has to be changed.
Security.UseClientIP.enable=false
That seemed to be the problem.

The experts got close but I found the solution elsewhere.
