SCCM Installation Errors

I am trying to setup a test environment with 3 laptops running Windows server 2008 R2 and a Cisco 2950 switch. I have a DC1 running on one machine (withVMware), a SQL Server 2008 on a second machine and would like to install SCCM on the third. When running the SCCM installation prereq check, I received the 'SQL Server sysadmin rights' and some other errors. ConfigMgrSetup log indicates that it "could not connect SQL server 'master' db". Can someone help me resolve this error?

HI,
the user account running Configuration Manager Setup must be granted sysadmin role permissions for setup to succeed.
use the print screens below to do it for the account used to install SCCM

The account was created using your instructions. However, when rerun the installation prereq check the error still exists.
HI,

the logged on user and site server machine account require administrative rights to the remote SQL Server computerso please make sure  the machine account and user account to be local administrator on SQL server.

If you configure a domain user account to run the SQL Server service instead of the local system account (SQL Server best practice), a Service Principal Name (SPN) must be configured for the domain user account in Active Directory Domain Services.

It says
"Resolved: This only occurs in the Prerequisite Checker, in actual setup it
is 100% Successful. (Reported to MS as Bug)."
HI parrtee18,

you can use SCCM 2007 SP2 CD direct to install the configuration manager , as this bug was reported for SCCM 2007 without any SP.

Good Luck!

Not sure what you meant? So... I can ignore this error and proceed with the installation?
yes try to start the installation and ignore the error , if it is failed i recommend to use SCCM SP2 to run the SCCM installation prereq check.

I have other errors to iron out before the installation. So I guess we can close this for now.
