Two subreports are in the main report group footer.

host             subreport1                                              host       subreport2
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AAA                    7                                                    AAA           10
BBB                    37                                                   BBB           307
CCC                      9                                                   DDD             40
DDD                    23                              -------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------              Total Count:     357
Total Count:        76

The  host and running total fields are in the subreport's group footers.  The total counts are in the subreport's report footers.
How can I make subreport2 display CCC 0?   3 tables are inner joined.

Is the report pointing directly to the tables, or to a query, stored proc, etc.?

Option 1 is to create a table with the values in host that you want and left join the other to it.
Option 2 (and my favorite) is to do this in a stored procedure and start with a temp table.
Option 3 is to create a static list in the report, and populate it with each value that matches your host list
