error msg Msg 15404

when the message is
Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'SRBSV\jimw', error code 0x6e.

is it an SQL or OS issue.

The same thing on another machine in the same domain, worked fine. so i know the login is good.

Its more of a Security issue with respect to OS.

does this mean
"BUILTIN\Windows Authorization Access Group"
has to be a SQL login as a good practice?

Dropping / Disabling BUILTIN\Local administrators from SQL Server would be good if you would change the administrators in the Server machine more often as this group would by default have sysadmin privileges.
Or in other words, grant the required rights loginwise either Windows login or SQL login.

Hope this clarifies.
