Hi there,

I cannot get my Draytek 5510 to use LDAP for user authentication. Do I have to enable simple authentication on the SBS 2008 server anywhere?

On the LDAP setup page of the 5510 config, I am using the internal IP of the DC, with port 389.

A common Name identifier of: CN
Distinguished name of: OU=SBSUsers,OU=Users,OU=MyBusiness,DC=my-radio,DC=local

Any help greatfully received.

By default on a 2008 domain controller simple binds will be accepted. I would assume SBS 2008 would be the same. To check you can open Group policy managment editor and open the default domain controllers policy. Browse to computer configuration -> policies -> windows settings -> local policies -> security options. Find the domain controller: LDAP server signing requirements - it can have three values: none (simple binds should work), not defined (same as none), or require signing (simple binds will not work). To be safe you might set it to none.

Repeat the above for the default domain policy.

Good Luck
