how can i add printer drivers without connecting printer? i would like to install printer drivers, but the software is asking me to plugin the usb cable to printer. the printer is in another location

go to printers, add a printer, choose LPT1 as the port, and then when it asks for drivers browse to the inf file that comes with your software.

This will install the driver on a non existant LPT1 but it will install the drivers.

thanks coast. will your solution works also on usb printers? will the system automatically detects it when the user plugs in his usb printer? user is using windows 7

Yes it should do, as the driver is present.

Cant you try it on a machine using this method first?

if push comes to shove, send out the disk and then connect via logmein ;-)

Some HP printers will not let you install the drivers this way and NEED you to use the installation package that came with the CD, so a trial and error situation may be of benefit here.
