Quickbooks POS 7 and Quickbooks Pro 8 Financial  Exchange Help

Hey All,
           I'm having a problem with the Financial Exchange process with respect to Quickbooks POS 7 and Quickbooks Pro 8.  I have decided to do this process via the use of Intuit's RDS Server and Client applications. My setup involves the following:
-2 Networked computers on the same Workgroup (One in the Back Office, One in the Store Front )
.- In the Backoffice computer, Quickbooks Pro 8 is installed and configured with Company Data(Company profile has been set up) Also in the backoffice computer, the RDS Server has been installed and configured properly with username, password and default port number. The RDS Server program runs successfully, as well as Quickbooks Pro 8
- In the storefront pc, Quickbooks POS 7 has been set up  to the point where the POS hardware has been successfully installed and tested (OS winxp sp2 with .NET Framework 2.0 and Latest Flash Player).

The problem lies with the RDS Client. When the RDS client is installed, it does so successfully. However, before even launching the RDS Client (weather POS is open or not), I have noticed that My Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Suite does not run! It's gives the error (I can't remember the exact error, I'll try to repost it when I have access to the PC) ''Application cannot be launched''. In addition to this, the RDS Client application does not launch. In a previous instance on the same machine, no other applications(Internet Explorer, as well as Office 2007 apps) could be launched at this point with the exception of Point of Sale. I had wiped the drive and did a fresh OS install to try to alleviate the problem, but now everything launches except Office 2007 applications. System Restore performed to remove the RDS Client reverses the problem.

Is there a way that I can maintain the same quickbooks setup on both machines as described above, without the use of the the RDS Server and Client for Financial Exchange? Else, does anyone know a fix?  I strongly believe that the RDS client is buggy, or it corrupts my system. Please note that this is the latest RDS Client as provided by Intuit, and also, I have updated the POS Software to the latest version via Quickbooks POS internal update service. Have you tried running the RDS client in compatibility mode?  Try that, then let me know what happens when attempting to launch Office 2007.  If it works, great, if not, try it the opposite way, run office in compatibility mode...

We will start with a simple fix then go more extreme if it doesn't work

Its important that I have the exact error message you are getting along with any error codes as well

I have tried running the RDS Client in compatibility mode as requested. The RDS Client still does not execute, as well as the error in opening applications continues.
Microsoft Office 2007 Applications upon failure to launch gives this error :

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

I have also noted that My Adobe Reader fails to launch as well, giving this error:

"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. "

Reinstalling Office and Adode Reader does not solve the problem. The same errors occur.
I have also noticed that Quickbooks POS doesn't run now. It says that it cannot initialize the .NET 2.0 Framework. So I tried repairing the .Net Framework 2.0 and 40% through the setup, it fails giving this error
" Error 25007. Error occured while initializing fusion. Setup could not load fusion with LoadLibraryShim(). Error: The handle is invalid(Retry and Cancel Buttons Displayed) "

Retry fails, Cancel rolls back the update. I have used the .Net Framework Setup 2.0 to uninstall the Framework. I did a fresh install of the Framework and before it completes, it gives the same error as above

Upon retry, error reappears, cancel rolls back installation.

This is where I have reached thus far. Many Thanks for the responses. Please advise

This sounds to me like you have a lot of corruption in your system

I would first try to do a repair installation of Windows
Then, make sure all of your service packs and .net framework packages are up to date as well

Then, when that is finished, do a clean install of Quickbooks. Then restore your data back into it

Let me know what happens after that

Hey All. I have done a full Windows Update and still the problem exists, but I have some news to shed light on the issue:
I have contacted Intuit and they have confirmed that their clients and users of these software packages are having the same exact issue. Currently they have no solution as they are trying to iron out the situation. They do not have an estimate on when workable solution will be found but they advise that if it isn't a physical security risk, to install POS and PRO on the same machine. That's it for now. Thank you all for the help!
