IMSS stands for Trend Micro InterScan messaging security suite. My exch server is running well, and I want to setup the above software for antispam/whitelist/blacklist purpose. When I tried to setup, it prompts me port 53 is using on my server, and IP profiler service has to make use of the above port.

Is there a step-by-step guide? I remember smtp port for exchange server has to change to other port?

Are you installing the IMSS on the same computer where Exchange is installed?

I would prefer to install it on the separate computer if you have one

Also did you refer to the guide available with TrendMicro before the installation?

Installation Guide

Hi Sudeep,

Before this, I ever tried to setup IMSS, but eventually failed. Now, after uninstall the s/w from add/remove programs, I found that the IMSS instance still kept in the sql 2005 express.

This time round, whenever I tried to setup IMSS again, it sure prompts me for the sa password. If I chose another option - to create a new db, the setup won't proceed.

Btw,what is the sa password. Secondly, if I want to delete the IMSS db instance, how to do it?

The sa password would be either "sa" or "as" without quotes.

Further for uninstalling the IMSS use the Setup of IMSS instead of using the Add/Remove Program.

I could be wrong here, but you could try that.

I think to delete the IMSS DB as well you would need to install IMSS again and then again run the setup to remove it.
