SET UP SECURITY ON MY CISCO WTR54G WIRELESS ROUTER

I had a 10 digit number to get into my wireless router before now when I try to set it up the laptop's etc trying to access get the message that "the setting on this computer do not match the requirement for the network"

I just put a static IP on my router for my network but that shouldn't effect the wireless router security settings should it??

It should have changed your network securities. Are you sure you didn't change them? if you can get into the router just go and reestablish your security setting.

I just put a static ip address in my router, I want to set up security so you need a password to connect to my network. If I leave it open it's fine but as soon as I select WEP or WEPA nobody can get to it because of that error.

sorry my first comment should have been shouldn't. if you set up any security you will have to go to the systems and reconnect them to the WLAN. if your on AD you can push down a policy to change everyone configuration to the new one .

OK, I had to change the settings on the laptop to see the network, never had to do that before but all is up and running now.

Thanks for all the help
