Not enough space in Runtime Area. smbios will not be available. HP IQ800

I believe that this is a BIOS Update issue.  HP offers an updated version of the BIOS, BUT it is designed to be installed via Windows. So, how would you suggest getting around the fact that the system will not boot into Windows till the BIOS flash is done.

try resetting the bios : remove AC and bios battery for a minute.
if the system does not boot - you can't do anything - a dead system

Apparently, this is a known issue with this series of HP AIOs.  I will try clearing the BIOS. and let you know..  

HP (no longer supporting this system) just suggests the flash.

Tried twice.. remove battery.. hold power button for 30 sec (same as clearing some NB BIOSs. On restart, same issue appears..
Catch 22.. can't fix it cause can't get into Windows to fix it, so you can get into Windows..

I'll hold out a bit longer, but I suspect this one is not coming out of the hole.

Prolly an ASUS MB here.  There is quite a bit of the same sort of problem with one of their boards.

the genuine Asus mobo s  have an easy recover for bios, accessed with Alt +  F2

Client is going to try and get a replacement MB.( There is an extenede warranty and there might be some success to this apporoach.  I will let you know). Hoping that the new one will have the updated BIOS installed.

System will allow BIOS access, but NOT boot to USB, CD/DVD so ther seems to be no reasonable way to do the flash.

Catch 22.

Replacing the MB "fixed the issue" but now waiting to gain access to HP tech site to get the "Tattoo" to reset the MB for the correct system. They use this MB in about 9 different configs, so "one-size-fits-none" would seem correct.
We are an HP Partner but not Tech authorized.. long process with lots of promises to HP to get set up.
