Maybe its the bios I have to flash on the NAS

google says you have factory version http://www.lacie.com/support/drivers/driver.htm?id=10105
according to documentation on site they run ARM Linux. Maybe some NAS software supports that device better like 1Gbps iSCSI....

I contacted Lacie support (very fast reply)

They sent me a URL to an update

For what ever reason they kept it secret.

They could not hide it from google.
And they have full GPL source of their firmware.
